Dr. Bhat is a clinical psychologist specializing in individual, couples and family therapy, and maintains a private practice in Newtown, Pa and Princeton, NJ.
With over 12 years experience as a therapist, and as a graduate of Wright State University School of Professional Psychology with a doctorate degree in clinical psychology, she is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are depression, anxiety, childhood problems, and couples and family therapy.
In addition to working with clients, Dr. Bhat participated in poster sessions in the past at national conferences on juvenile violence and now more recently at free healthfairs for Hispanic communities in Trenton and Lakewood, New Jersey. She has also conducted Mindfulness Stress Reduction sessions for rehab centers and their staff, and has provided consultations on stress management for a healthcare company. She also conducts Corporate Stress Reduction Sessions for companies.
Dr. Bhat is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
Dr. Bhat has appeared on several radio and podcast shows. Her most recent was on Business Talk Radio for 3 live shows ( also via tuneinradio.com) where she discusses how the pandemic has impacted her clients and her business; South Asian Mental Health and the Stigma; and Empathy and EI and how important these are now more than ever!
She also appeared on ZeeTV (Marathi) in 2017 for her advocacy of mental health issues in the South Asian population.
